Olivia Hanson

Hello everyone. My name is Olivia Hanson and I am from Newport, Washington where I am currently a sophomore in high school. I enjoy raising and showing cattle, and have been doing so since I was eight. I have been involved with the WJAA for five years now, serving as Secretary/Treasurer for the last two. The WJAA has enabled me to find mentors within the beef industry, gain friends statewide, and travel to many different destinations. Some of my favorite memories with Angus friends are trips to LEAD Conference in New Orleans and Regionals in Reno. Outside of the association I am involved with 4H, focusing on cattle, livestock judging, leadership, and art. I love to read, eat ice cream, and enjoy the short, sweet summers of Eastern Washington.

Alyx Hanson

Alyx Hanson is from Elk, Wash., and has been raising Angus cattle for eight years. This is her second year serving as the vice president for the Washington Junior Angus Association. Currently, Alyx is a freshman at Oklahoma State University majoring in Animal Science and Agricultural Communications. After completing her education at OSU, she plans on moving back to Washington to raise cattle and a family. Her passion for youth and agriculture runs deep. If she is not getting cattle ready for a show, she is planning cattle or sheep clinics for kids in the Northwest. After being involved with the state and national junior Angus associations on all levels, Alyx says her favorite event is the LEAD conference each year. Aside from the livestock, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and eating ice cream.
